Introduction to Silver Jewelry - 12 Hours
No Prerequisite:
This class requires no previous experience. Students will learn Basic Silver working techniques such as: Cutting, Sanding, Filing, Soldering, Burnishing and Finishing to create a Wire Ring or Pendant with a bezel mounted cabochon, and other projects as time allows.

Intro to Silver Clay - 3 Hours
No Prerequisite:
This class requires no previous experience. Students will learn basic techniques necessary to create fine silver jewelry (.999) out of a silver clay. Topics covered are the types of silver clay available, shaping, texturing, firing and finishing. At the end of the class, each student will take home at least one piece of finished fine silver jewelry.

Silver Clay I - 6 Hours
No Prerequisite:
This class requires no previous experience. This is a longer version of the Intro class that is covered in more depth. Students will learn several techniques necessary to create fine silver jewelry (.999) out of a silver clay. Topics covered are the types of silver clay available, shaping, texturing, stone setting, firing and finishing. At the end of the class, each studen will take home a few pieces of finished fine silver jewelry.

Silver Clay & Dichroic Glass - 6 Hours
Prerequisite: Previous Silver Clay experience required
The class explores the interaction between the silver and glass and how to alleviate some of the issues involved. Students will learn several techniques necessary to create a finished Dichroic fine silver jewelry (.999) out of a silver clay. Topics covered are how to use glass and silver together, the interactions between glass and silver, how to minimize stress in the glass, structural concerns for strength in the finished piece, firing and finishing. At the end of the class, each student should have pendant(s), pin(s), and/or earrings completed.

Hollow Fine Silver Beads - 6 hours, 2 sessions
Prerequisite: Previous Silver Clay experience helpful
Previous silver clay experience is helpful in producing one-of-a-kind hollow silver beads. Topics covered are the types of silver clay available, materials to use to create a hollow bead, creating the hollow bead, decorating the beads, shaping, texturing, firing and finishing. At the end of the class, each will have a few finished hollow fine silver beads.

Cabochons - 12 Hours
No Prerequisite:
No previous experience is necessary to cut and polish a piece of an agate or jasper into a nice cabochon. These techniques may also be applied to fused glass cabochons with a little tweaking. At the end of the class, each student will have a few polished cabochons ready to mount into jewelry.

Lab Time - Per Hour (does not include materials)
Use of our studio and equipment is available to current and former students to create your own jewelry. Knowledge of the proper use of the equipment is required and instruction is available for a fee if you don't know how to use it properly.
